Description
Peaches & Cream is a masterpiece of a honeysuckle, and it’s well behaved! It has everything we look for and want in a honeysuckle vine, but grows to only about 7 feet tall in 5 years and maybe 8 or 9 feet tall in 7 years.
Where to start with the description of this magnificent flowering vine? We already mentioned it has a compact growth habit, so let’s talk about the flowers. You and your hummingbirds will love them. You’ll love the color and delicious fragrance, and the hummingbirds will love the sweet nectar. Beginning in late spring and continuing through summer, abundant large clusters of elongated, purple-red buds open into bi-color flowers with dark pink outsides and yellow to white on inside fading to a soft peach color. The flowers are a beautiful contrast with the deep green foliage, which is evergreen in the southern range where it grows. After the flowering season has ended in late summer red and purple berries form that extend the color show, and which are a delight to the songbirds. You’ll be happy to know that this honeysuckle is highly disease resistant and cold hardy to USDA Zone 4a. Find Your Zone
This vine does not cling to walls and other surfaces, however, it will grow up and on just about anything that provides its vines something to twine around. If you don’t have a trellis, arch or other structure suitable for this vine to grow on, it can also be grown as an attractive mounding shrub or very pretty groundcover. Its smaller size makes it suitable for growing on a support in pots, planters and other containers, and in smaller gardens where space is limited without taking over the garden.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 7 to 9 feet tall in 7 years, Peaches & Cream Honeysuckle is a compact variety ideal for use to grow on fences, rails, posts, mailboxes, trellises and other structures or supports its vines can twine around. A fine addition to hummingbird gardens, cottage gardens, fragrance gardens and peach or pink theme gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 3 feet apart to cover fences or other structures
Growing Preferences
Peaches & Cream Honeysuckle is easily grown in a moist but well-drained soil of average fertility and full sun to light shade. The vine produces more flowers and is more vigorous in full sun. We suggest at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day and morning sun to dry the dew from the leaves. That said, in very hot climates the vine will appreciate some shade or filtered sun during the hottest part of the day in summer. Quite drought tolerant when established and hardy in USDA Zones 4a-9b Find Your Zone

Received this honeysuckle in excellent shape! The way that it was packaged for transport was outstanding. I believe it could have been mailed upside down and still look like it was fresh from the greenhouse.——————————————-We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! This plant took 5 days longer to arrive than originally planned, so I was concerned that it might be damaged. However, it was very well packaged and except, for needing a good drink, it was in fine shape. It had obviously grown a bit in transit and the new growth was pale, due to lack of light, but now that it’s been in the ground for a couple of weeks, it is doing well. I would buy again from Wilson Bros.—————————————–We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! Thanks for the great review! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG

I ordered this honeysuckle in the one gallon size. It arrived promptly and very well packed. Not a leaf was damaged. Although it hasn’t bloomed yet, it is a healthy and full plant and I expect that next spring it will grow and put on a show. I’m very excited to see what unfolds! I love your quality. This isn’t the first or last plant I’ll buy from

I ordered a 3 gallon pot of Peaches and Cream Honeysuckle. My order was delivered on time and the plant was healthy and in perfect condition. It is currently working it’s way up one side of our new pergola! Image to follow once it starts blooming!———————————————We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! Working with Wilson Bros is great. I received my Honeysuckle plant timely and the packing was great. Never having Honeysuckle before, I wasn’t sure what to expect so when it arrived and several leaves were falling off, I sent an email and they responded and let me know that it was normal for the plant to loose it’s leaves prior to the cold months and that it will begin sprouting new leaves. They said to keep an eye on it and let them know how it goes. Since it doesn’t bloom until Spring I’m not able to comment on how it looks and smells but am anxiously waiting to see it bloom and will send pictures then. They are a company to work with.—————————–We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! Thanks for the kind words and great review! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG

I admit that I gave up buying plants online years ago when I ordered a plant in a four-inch pot but found when it was delivered that it was really a one-inch plug stuck into a four-inch pot. So I hesitated a bit when I found this Peaches & Cream honeysuckle at Wilson Bros Gardens. But they said it was a 3-gallon pot, and I thought, “Why not try it?” The reviews of the company said they package things very well for shipment, too. Well, the vine came today and I can only say one thing: “WOW!” It came in a 5-foot box, perfectly cushioned and supported, soil damp, and the plant bursting with health and already in bud. I have never seen such a fantastic packaging job! And the plant is no little plug – it is a four-foot, multi-stemmed vine that is ready to go crazy on its new trellis in my garden. I am incredibly happy and would order from Wilson Bros Gardens again in a heartbeat. Thank you, my gardening friends, for bringing honeysuckle to my garden!————————————-WBG Reply: Hi Paula, Thanks so much for taking the time to provide your review of the Peaches & Cream Fragrant Honeysuckle. I love the smell of honeysuckle but have avoided it due to the reputation of it growing out of control and overgrowing in an area and becoming difficult to control. This sounds like it is not going to do this, I am planting it along a fence line, in an area that I have had difficulty growing anything, it is pretty wet, it does drain but it is pretty wet. Wish me luck.——————WBG Reply: Hi Susan, Thanks so much for taking the time to provide your review of the Peaches & Cream Fragrant Honeysuckle, this particular one is smaller growing and should not get out of control. It should do great along your fence line, we sure hope you enjoy it for years to come!

I received the honeysuckle vines in good time and excellent condition. They were over two feet tall and have grown two feet more up my pergola posts since planting in summer. Very pretty flowers. I am very pleased. Question, should I remove the stakes? ——————– WBG Reply: Hi Alice – Thanks so much for taking the time to provide your review of the Peaches And Cream Honeysuckle vines. Glad to hear they’re growing nicely and we hope you and your hummingbirds enjoy them for years to come. It’s not absolutely necessary to remove the stakes but you can do so. Just be careful not to damage the vines in the process. Sometimes it’s necessary to cut the ties loose that held the vine to the stake and then use a sharp pair of pruners or snips to cut the stake into sections for safer removal. Let us know if there’s ever anything else we can do for you. We’re at your service! – Brent | Wilson Bros Gardens
