Description
With its dense, compact and non-flopping habit to only 5 feet high and wide, ‘Jetstream’ has set a new standard for Oakleaf Hydrangeas. Its gorgeous, elongated clusters of white flowers are held high on strong upright stems that don’t flop. As the flowering season progresses the white flowers start turning pink from the bottom up! The lustrous deep green leaves turn brilliant shades of purple and red over a long period in fall. What’s more, Jetstream displays lovely, exfoliating cinnamon brown bark in winter.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing in a mound to only 5 to 6 feet tall and 4 to 5 feet wide, Jetstream Oakleaf Hydrangea is ideal for use as an accent, in groupings or mass plantings, or as a natural hedge in landscape borders or home foundation plantings. This cultivar is also suitable for growing in large pots. Right at home in the partially sunny woodland border or cottage and cut flower gardens. Also a nice addition to white or pink color themed gardens and tropical-look gardens.
Suggested Spacing:Â 4 feet apart for hedge;Â 8 feet or more apart for space between plants

Note:Â For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Cold Hardiness Zone 5a, where this Hydrangea is not reliably winter hardy, you’ll be happy to know that it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and place back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.
Growing Preferences
Jetstream Oakleaf Hydrangea is easy to grow and resistant to pests and diseases. It thrives in any location from full sun to deep shade in moist but well-drained soil of average fertility. In hotter climates of the South (USDA Zones 7-9) some afternoon shade is recommended.
Note: Jetstream is a Hydrangea quercifolia (oakleaf) species that produces its flowers from buds that formed on “old wood” (during the previous year). Oakleaf hydrangeas typically require little to no pruning. They are best left alone. That said they can be pruned to remove a stray branch or to reduce size.Â

I love oak leaf hydrangeas and have several different cultivars. This one is a real beauty. Though I haven’t yet seen the flowers the foliage is a dark, rich green and the shape is quite compact. Arrived in perfect condition. Easy to plant too as roots weren’t compacted.————————————Thanks for the awesome review! We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG
