Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing in a mounding and cascading form 4 feet tall and equally as wide, the Fairytrail Bride Hydrangea is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings or as border in landscape beds and home foundation plantings. Perfect for use at the top of walls where its stems will cascade over the edge. Also excellent as a solo or combined with other plants in large containers or hanging baskets. A fine addition to Hydrangea gardens, white theme gardens, cut flower gardens and cottage gardens.Â
Suggested Spacing:Â 3 to 3.5 feet apart for solid hedges; 6 feet or more apart for space between plants
Growing Preferences
Fairytrail Bride Hydrangea is easy to grow in average, moist, well-drained soil. It can take the heat in the South. It will tolerate full sun however we think it performs and looks its best in locations that provides some filtered sun or shade in the hottest part of summer afternoons. For best flowering give it at least 6 hours of sun a day. Â
Note: Fairytrail Bride is a Hydrangea paniculata species that produces its flowers from buds that are formed on “new wood” (the current season’s growth). This means you don’t want to prune them in late spring or summer when they’re preparing to bloom.Â
