Description
Corsican Mint is a tiny little ground-hugging creeper that will pack a punch of aroma in the garden and a creme de mint flavoring in hot and cold drinks, ice cream and baked goods. Its mat form and height of only 1/4″ makes it a fine selection in design for filling gaps between stepping stones or as a groundcover or a soil cover in container gardens that can be situated outdoors or grown indoors as a houseplant. In consistently moist soil the plant spreads well even in its first year and the tiny purple flowers are irresistible to butterflies from June tom August.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 1/8 to 1/4 inch tall and spreading 12 inches or more rooting as it goes, Corsican Mint is perfect as a groundcover or along paths and walks or between stepping stones. It does best in a consistently moist soil so is perfect for low-lying areas such as ditches or any other area with soil that is slow to dry. Also a nice soil cover and spiller plant in containers. A fine addition to sensory/fragrance gardens, herb gardens, cottage gardens and butterfly and pollinator gardens.
Suggested Spacing:Â Â 12 inches or more apart for mass plantings

Corsican Mint is very easy to grow will grow in a wide range of soils provided the soil stays consistently moist, but not waterlogged. It does not like drought. In our no4rth central Georgia gardens it has performed best in partially shaded environments. Morning and evening sun are okay but provide shade or dappled light in the afternoon. It can also be grown indoors using a lightweight, well-drained potting mix. Evergreen in Zones 8 and 9 and semi to fully deciduous in zones 6 and 7.
